Richard Ogle reeived his Certified Interpretive Guide certificate from the National Association of Interpretation.
Julianna Sullivan completed her HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) training.

The Environmental team worked on the critical areas map and getting the interdepartmental meeting ready for December.
Khadijah Homolka submitted two abstracts to the 2025 Salmon Recovery Conference that have recently been accepted.
ARE ANY GRANTS BEING UTILIZED? WHAT FOR?
We recieved our grant award for BIA Timber Fish and Wildlife funding to support our Forestry and Conservation Program. The Research and Monitoring Program is using Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Funding (PCSRF) for Hood Canal Bridge Fish Passage Research.
WANT TO HIGHLIGHT OR GIVE A SHOUTOUT TO ANY INDIVIDUALS THIS MONTH?
Chloe Donaldson would like to give a shoutout to Ben and Marla for helping her transition to her new job and for help with maps and the permit process.
We'd also like to give a shoutout to Issac Purser, he's done great learning his new roll and has completed forest reviews and helped remove wind fallen trees to help contribute to our Elders Woodcutting program.
The Research and Monitoring Porgram would like to recognize Julianna Sullivan for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the program and the Tribe.
The program would also like to reognize Shane Baze for his continued hard work and dedication in completeing the 2024 spawner surveys.
ANY PROJECTS THAT YOU COMPLETED THIS MONTH?
The Forest and Conservation program has completed reviews for the last two forest practice application proposals on the Hansville Block, this is getting us closer to the land transferring to the tribe.
HAVE ANY GOALS BEEN MET THIS MONTH? WHO REACHED THEM?
Yes! The tribe's legal department worked with the grants department ( Stuart Heslop and Roxanne Hocket) to successfully obtain a $600,000 grant to provide 3 years of funding to provide civil legal services directly to tribal members.
ARE ANY GRANTS BEING UTILIZED? WHAT FOR?
We will recieve the grant in January 2025.
WANT TO HIGHLIGHT OR GIVE A SHOUTOUT TO ANY INDIVIDUALS THIS MONTH?
Stuart Heslop, Roxanne Hockett and David Robinson who all teamed up to help me with this application and be successful on behalf of the tribe.

We received the positive news this month that we are awarded the funding!

Yes, the Tribal Climate Resilience grant, to pay our contractor who is managing this grant.

Jodi Fulton- She along with her contracted workers created a cool haunted house for the Halloween Party. She works so hard to ensure the parties are fun, creative and different. I don't think people realize all the hard work and long hours she puts into planning and hosting these events.

Martha Dumford attended Amerind's risk management training in Nashville and learned about opportunities and resources for additional safety training and assessments.

Jennifer and the HR team hosted our second all department connection event of the year, a "Thanksgiving Pre-Funk". The attendance increased from the last event and we had the opportunity to share wonderful food dishes, holiday traditions and stories with one another. We look forward to more employees joining us at our "share the Love (and soup)" event in February.
Martha and Melody arranged our open enrollment benefit meetings. In addition to our usual benefits updates and question/answer sessions, Kitsap Credit Union came to provide information on financial wellness resources they offer for free. Malissa launched training through Tovuti on the topic of communications for all of us to enhance our skills in these areas. Check them out if you haven't already.
Audreena facilitated 7 interviews for departments in Noember. In December she will be plannong and preparing for 2025 hires.
Kiana conducted 3 new hire orientations and 2 transfer orientations. Be sure to check out the new hire/transfer blog to learn more about these team members.
