As a vital component of the Tribal Gaming Agency, our responsibility encompasses the regulatory oversight of the Point Casino and Hotel. Recently, a select group of our team embarked on training to Marysville, WA, and Las Vegas, NV, aimed at expanding their knowledge base and acquiring tools essential for the advancement of our agency. Their proactive engagement in these opportunities is commendable, and I am grateful for their commitment to personal and professional growth. Furthermore, their eagerness to share their newfound insights with a mentoring approach demonstrates their dedication to fostering a culture of learning and growth within our organization.

Shout out to Jimmy Wion and the Utilities department for a quick turn around and a job well done on prepping an area for a storage shed for the Special Projects Department. Let’s head on over to the Facilities Department and give a HUGE Shout-Out to our amazing Tribal Custodians!! Hey Tribal Custodians! This is what Marla Powers from Natural Resources has to say about you:

I want to recognize employees that I don't think I've ever met.  They come to my office after I've left and when I come back to my office the next day, ALL of the mud and dirt of the previous day has been taken away.  Today, it feels like the carpets were shampooed.  Wow!  The custodians who work here do a wonderful job of keeping everything clean and stocked.  I think of this as invisible work.  But it matters so much!  I've been wanting to say thank you for a while.  So.  Thank you for the work that you do.  It makes a positive difference in my workday!

Next up we’ll head up the hill to the Heronswood Garden. Let’s give a Shout-Out to Riz Reyes who is Assistant Director for the Heronswood Garden. Hey Riz! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

You give them amazing support through transitions, education and teaching them their culture. Your efforts and supports to our most precious gifts in this world are not going unnoticed. Thank you and keeping doing what you're doing! Thank You All!

Let’s keep the good vibes going!! Now we will head upfront to the Tribal Front Desk and give a Shout-Out to our Front Desk Coordinator Kat Perry! Hey Kat! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

Huge shout out to Kat for all her help.  I took over the claiming for our 340B program (best cost for our patients/tribal members prescriptions) last spring.  Have been trying since September to have our pharmacy wholesaler fax the daily invoices which at times can be between 5-10+ and also, they come in on the weekends and includes monthly statement of all script's costs. I was directed to have them faxed to the HWC but wasn't working not receiving, then was directed to use tribal fax that worked, but Kat would need to forward these documents daily until the provider updated the new fax number. I don't know how many daily faxes tribal front desk receives, but to have this added to it, I can only imagine the inbox.

Since September Kat had made sure every day to sift through tribal faxes looking for the specific fax number coming from the provider that I needed for HW Finance dept. to reconcile every month and to give it as backup to accounting so we could balance with bank statement. I did start receiving them 3 months ago, but then we think our fax info may have been deleted so Kat has been forwarding again since the 20th of Feb. until the provider updated our fax number again.

So I just feel she deserves a little extra Thank you for taking the time again sorting through faxes daily to forward to me.  Her doing so helps keep things run smoothly for me.  She is a helpful team player, and I think she is awesome!

For the first time EVER a specific Department has a FOURTH Haʔ nəŋ Cn Shout-Out in a single month!! Let’s head BACK over to the Early Childhood Department and give Chrissy McBride a Shout-Out! Hey Chrissy! Here’s what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

She comes in early every day makes sure her class is well taken care of, she's a great team player and always greets everyone.

Alright!! Feelin’ the Good Vibes!! Now let’s head over to the Career and Education Department to give Lauren Moon a Haʔ nəŋ Cn Shout-Out!! Hey Lauren! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

Lauren goes above and beyond for our kids every day! When she notices there is a need she tries her best to figure out a way to fill it. She is an extremely thoughtful and giving person. She constantly gives her best. Whether it’s giving her own lunch away or giving a jacket to a person in need she is always thinking of others. I'm grateful she is with our kids every day. Lauren, I appreciate you so much and the love you show our kids! THANK YOU!

Next up we’ll be headed over to Health Services and give a Shout-Out to Jesse Henley!! Hey Jesse! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

Always pleasant to work with! I made a silly mistake, locked myself out of my account and was embarrassed about it. But he looked at it as a positive learning opportunity and was able to fix it promptly! Quick to jump on and help with any IT issues we have here at the clinic, much appreciated.

This next one goes to TWO Departments. IT and PGST Housing Authority. Jimmie Bidtah and Kara Horton!! Hey Jimmie and Kara!! This is what Jennifer Wright-Tom has to say about you two:

I want to thank Jimmie and Kara for being the first Directors to turn in their departments completed job descriptions in one email for review. They used the Job Description Template and turned in clean job descriptions. Thank you both, good job!

Let’s keep the good vibes rollin’!! Next we’ll head to the Utilities Department and give James Wion another Haʔ nəŋ Cn Shout- Out!! Hey James!! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

James was so helpful in hanging up some signs in the community! He made himself reachable for planning purposes. He let me know when the signs were up, and he followed up to make sure I liked where they were placed. He was thoughtful about placement to make sure they are visible to the community and in high-traffic areas. Thank you!

Wow we have some GREAT employees!! Let’s head over to Facilities and gave TWO Shout-Outs to George Sparks and Jordan Caldera!! Hey Fellas! This is what Jennifer Wright-Tom has to say about you:

These employees go above and beyond. They have been cleaning the inside and outside windows of the Longhouse for 2 days. Look at how high they are! Amazing work guys!!! Thank you so much for the hard work you put into our tribal campus for our employees and community members. Always with a smile too. My hands go up to you.

George Jordan

This next Haʔ nəŋ Cn Shout-Out goes over to Health Services for Ron Miguel!! Hey Ron! This is what Jennifer Wright-Tom has to say about you:

Ron has begun a cooking class for the GHWIC participants. He started by having us make our own healthy breakfast for the following day. He explained everything clearly and showed us it would only take one shopping trip for a weeks’ worth of healthy breakfasts. Ron showed some of us how easy it is to poach eggs as well. This takes serious dedication and amazing communications skills. Ron you out did yourself with the Elk Stew for us all at the end of class. I am excited for the next class. Ron Miguel you are an outstanding employee, your dedication to this community shows. Haʔ nəŋ Cn

Ron Miguel

Last and most definitely NOT least, we are headed over to the Vulnerable Adult Program to give a Haʔ nəŋ Cn Shout-Out to Leslie Purser! Hey Leslie! This is what a fellow co-worker has to say about you:

Leslie is the Tribe's Special Needs Advocate. She works diligently to provide services for individuals and provides great support for their families. Leslie did an outstanding job for the first ever Easter Egg Hunt for individuals with unique abilities and included their entire families! I appreciate the work she does from the bottom of my heart!

I would like to give a nice shout out to Kyle Carpenter. We had some issues with our program and had to wait till the next day. The next morning, I received an email that he would be over that morning. I ended having to go to main campus and saw his truck pass me, I thought great, now I'll have to do another ticket, oh well. When I got back to the office, I was told he had been by, I figured I'd wait a bit then submit another ticket. Minutes later Kyle walked in and said Hello and confirmed my request. He said he was the blue house and that he'd come by to see if I returned. I was defiantly surprised that he'd come back to check to see it I had returned. I did thank him for coming back by and that I really appreciated it. Kyle was kind enough to return. I was impressed and very grateful for that. Thank you, Kyle, for your ethics and being a kind gentleman.
