Please join me in reading about what our Natural Resources department and our Early Childhood Education center has been up to for the month of August. :)
WANT TO HIGHLIGHT OR GIVE A SHOUTOUT TO ANY INDIVIDUALS THIS MONTH?
- Courtney and Elvira have been going above and beyond in their classrooms. So thankful for the excitement and energy that they bring when working with children and families.
- Melissa, Celina and Tyler wrapped up parent education classes and had a huge success with parent involvement.
HAVE ANY GOALS BEEN MET THIS MONTH? WHO REACHED THEM?
- Richard worked on several projects with grant funding from the BIA. These projects focus on youth outreach, working with Earth Corp, and removing invasive plant species. He was able to close out one of the three grants.
- High priority areas recommended for conservation have been identified through biological assessments. Mike Higgins, our Habitat Biologist I, is working on a presentation for Tribal Council.
ARE ANY GRANTS BEING UTILIZED? WHAT FOR?
- Courtney Hart is using a BIA Invasive Species grant to begin her work on supporting green crab trapping.

- NR would like to give a shoutout to our Director, Roma Call. She takes the time to meet regularly with each of the staff she supervises and is always supportive, knowledgeable and helpful.
- Mike Higgins would like to give a shoutout to everyone at PGST for making him feel welcome and appreciated.
